Hp Compaq pro 6300 mt
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a hp compaq pro with a pre-installed 2tb hdd as my boot drive. I recently purchased a 500gb SSD to install windows on and use it as my new boot drive. After installing windows i could not get the computer to boot from the SSD at all. It keeps saying that there was no disk detected but every time i go into the BIOS it shows it in the storage options. I even tried changing the boot order around and nothing worked. I only got to work as a secondary drive in windows. 😞

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hi:

Make sure you install the SSD in the SATA 0 port (where your original hard drive is).

Move the 2 TB drive to the SATA 1 port.

The PC is going to boot from the drive in the SATA 0 port.

Hi sorry for the late response. I installed the SDD in sata 0 but it still won't boot.

Hi:

The only other suggestion I can offer, would be to see if reinstalling Windows on the drive in its current position works.
