I'm trying to replace the HD in my computer with a Kingston SSD. I got a mounting bracket for the SSD, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with the HD mount in the computer. Is there a special adapter or bracket that is required for my computer?bracket.jpg

@DaSOB,

The service manual shows on page 14 that the original 3.5 hard drive is mounted using the bottom screws on the drive. What you need is an adpater tray that mounts with bottom screws, but still allows the 2.5 drive to mount.

This tray is listed to solve that issue.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

Thanks. I was able to modify the existing bracket by drilling two small holes in the proper places and tapping them to fit the mounting screws. SSD is now mounted and functionioning perfectly.
