Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I have an HP Elite Desk 800SFF G1, older machine.  It has an i5-4590.  I have two of them actually.  I successfully completed an ssd upgrade in one of them.  The second one, when the ssd is hooked up, going into disk management, does not allow the ssd to be initialized.  it's giving an error message: "A Device which does not exist was specified." and I can't do anything with it.  Is there a way to fix that.2.jpg

Ah.

That is definitely not a mainstream brand. That is a AliExpress special.

At that price point, I would just bite the bullet and replace it.

I do not even see any support links in the official store website.

Maybe it is just me, but no product support is a big red flag in my purchase decision for just about anything I plan on buying.

You will have far greater success with your SSD products if you stay with mainstream products.

Are the SSD's identical as well?

Did you clone or perform a clean install?

Have you tried using the SSD manufacturer's utility to see if the SSD has issues?

They are identical.  Hooked up one internally it was recognized right away.  Cloned it and everything runs perfectly.  Second one, same hook up but the machine won't recognize it, just get that error.  Can't do any chkdsk, scannow, nothing as the system won't recognize it, initialize it or anything.  I'll see if I can find anything for your manufacturers suggestion.  Thanks

If you will give me the manufacturer name of the disk, I should be able to find their proprietary S.M.A.R.T. utility that will let you know if the disk is defective.

Wow, thank you.  The name on the ssd is ACOS.  Is that what you need?

Ok, will do.  Thank you very very much for your help.  I paid $11 bucks for it so should have known it was too good to be true.  Thanks, will stick to a better brand and pay a bit more.
