I have an older HPE Pavilion Elite Model 110f I believe (2010 vintage). It's started to significantly slow down and I'm considering a factory reset. I've also had someone suggest getting a SSD to put windows and some programs on to make it run significantly faster. I'm not sure if that's possible with this machine since it has a partition which "factory image" for recovery I believe.
I don't know if I can add an SSD to this machine and have it install windows and other programs on that SSD instead of the native hard drive as it was originally configured. If anyone knows if this is or isn't possible I'd appreciate it.
I don't think I have a windows dvd and I think it came preloaded with Windows. I assume I don't need a windows boot disc if I'm doing a factory reset.

yes you can add a ssd, and by cloning the existing drive to the ssd you will have a exact copy including the factory recovery image

Sounds promising. Couple things. If the factory image partition 😧 is 12 gigs, and the main C: drive is 920 gigs, would I only need an SSD with enough memory to hold the factory image drive and whatever programs I wanted to save directly on it and then put the rest on the original hard drive?
Also, how exactly would I "clone" the existing drive onto a brand new purchased SSD? I've never cloned a drive before.
