The desktop has been making a humming sound off and on for the past week and it seems the problem is with the SanDisk drive that came with my ENVY machine. The HP hardware diagnostics app returned the following error after a LongDST:
141624400513 A fatal error or unknown test error occurred while the device was executing its self-test routine and the device was unable to complete the self-test routine (0x3).
I'm wondering if it's time to remove and recycle the SanDisk drive or if there's anything I can do to save it. Thanks.

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
The SanDisk drive is a caching drive. You don't need it.
But you may want to upgrade the operating system HDD to a 2.5 inch SATA SSD.
Your PC is going to be much slower without the caching drive.
