Hi all, I have an elitedesk 705 g4 mini, and while doing other things, I broke the tiny white clip holding the sata ribbon cable into what I gather to be a zif port labeled p60. Can anyone advise on how I can obtain new clips?

If the latch (flip) broke off it can be put back on or a replacement flip can be installed.
If the connector broke then some type of soldering is required. That is much more difficult.
This video shows the latch being put back on

If your m .2 slot is empty you'd be better off buying an NVME drive and cloning your old SSD to it

Thank you for your assistance! I was following this video https://youtu.be/-F4zmBv-edQ?si=BAVvjhWxN4F5ewpq at around the 3:20 mark. In it you can see the specific design of the clip I am looking for, as in the video you linked it is different. On the white clip I have there are prongs on the end to hold it in place, but one broke off. Getting the piece out is another challenge, possibly for this weekend.
But finding what to call this piece has been a challenge. I have tried using HP’s parts page, but it hasn’t worked for me in Safari or Firefox.

Regarding moving to an m.2 ssd, that also could work if I can overcome an obstacle I see. I do have the original 256 gb ssd in and in use for a dual boot on two drives setup I had going. I read that there is a second m.2 port but as I understand it, that one is somehow reserved for some wireless network adapter. If what I read is untrue, then I would be happy to get going on cloning the Sata drive onto a new m.2 drive.

I think this is the connector
If the edge that holds the "lid" broke then the connector is no good. I have seen some photos where OPs used glue to try to hold down the ribbon cable. Some type of spring-steel clip might work if it could somehow be secured in place to keep it pressing against the ribbon cable.
There are two M.2 slots available: one for SATA the other for WIFI
Replacement motherboards are as low as $20 usd on ebay

Thank you again. It is amazing to me that this tiny piece of plastic is such an impediment. My particular mobo is for a ryzen cpu and those I found were closer to $60-80. It becomes a question of what this pc is worth. Am I correct in thinking that swapping mobos is going to cause windows to freak out anyhow?
another thing: does anyone make replacement cooling fans for these things that aren’t so loud when the system is running hard?
