Hi @twaquan,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your experience with your HP OMEN 30L Desktop PC could be due to a variety of factors, including hardware, software, or overheating issues. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and potentially resolve the problem:
Check for Overheating:
- Ensure that your PC has proper ventilation and is not overheating. Clean any dust from the fans and vents.
- Use software like HWMonitor or Core Temp to monitor your CPU and GPU temperatures.
Update Drivers and BIOS:
- Make sure all your drivers, especially the graphics card driver, are up to date.
- Check for any BIOS updates from HP’s support website.
Check Power Supply:
- Ensure that your power supply is adequate for your system’s power needs. If possible, test with a different power supply.
Run Hardware Diagnostics:
- Use HP’s hardware diagnostic tools to check for any hardware issues.
- You can access the diagnostics tool by restarting your PC and pressing the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens, then select F2 for System Diagnostics.
Check for Software Conflicts:
- Uninstall any recent software or updates that may have caused the issue.
- Run a virus and malware scan to ensure your system is clean.
Memory Check:
- Run a memory test to check if your RAM is functioning correctly. You can use the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool or MemTest86.
Event Viewer:
- Check the Windows Event Viewer for any error messages or warnings that occurred around the time your screen went black. This can provide clues about the cause.
Safe Mode:
- Boot your PC in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, it might be a driver or software problem.
