So everytime i go to switch to HDR using my Transcend 32 monitor, the screen goes black and goes to sleep. But, if i restart the monitor, it works?
I have completely reinstalled all firmware and updated everything on the monitor, tried 5 different cords that were all VESA certified. I do not get it. Is the monitor just not recognizing the handover? for $1500, thats quite pathetic and HP needs to figure this out or continue to be a joke amongst PC enthusiasts.

When your OMEN Transcend 32 monitor goes to sleep or displays a black screen when switching to HDR mode, there are a few potential causes and solutions to consider. Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Potential Causes:
- Incompatibility with HDR Metadata: Sometimes, the monitor may not correctly interpret the HDR signal from the connected device.
- Cable and Connection Issues: Ensure that the cables you are using are properly compatible and connected.
- Monitor Settings: Incorrect monitor settings can also lead to issues when switching to HDR.
Steps to Troubleshoot:
Verify HDR Settings:
- Make sure that HDR is enabled both on your monitor and your connected device.
- On Windows 11, go to Settings > System > Display, and under HDR, ensure it is turned on.
Check Cable Connections:
- Ensure that you are using VESA certified cables.
- Confirm that the cables are connected properly to the HDMI 2.1 ports or DisplayPort.
Restart the Monitor:
- As you mentioned, restarting the monitor resolves the issue temporarily. Try toggling HDR off and on again in the monitor settings.
Update Firmware and Drivers:
- Ensure that both the monitor firmware and the graphic drivers on your computer are up to date.
Reset Monitor Settings:
- Access the monitor's On Screen Display (OSD) menu and navigate to reset settings.
Check for Over-Scaled Resolution Settings:
- Make sure that the resolution and refresh rate settings are appropriate and supported by HDR.
Enabling HDR Manually:
In some cases, manually enabling HDR on the monitor when the content does not automatically signal it may help. Follow these steps:
- Open the OSD by pressing the joystick on the back of the monitor.
- Navigate to HDR settings and select “HDR On” manually.
