HP Compter Model:M01-F3224
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi.   I just got a new HP Tower with 512gb storage thinking that would be plenty and of course I guessed wrong.  My next plan of action is to upgrade the SSD to at least a TB and I know that one option is to basically replace the 512gb in the system with a larger captivity SSD.    The second option which I don't know is possible is add the new SSD card so it can be used in conjunction with the 512 already installed.  When I looked inside the unit, I didn't see another SSD card slot near the 512.  Is there one and I am just missing it?  I can't locate the technical manual for it.

Thanks for any assistance

Frank

Hi:

You are correct.

Below is the link to the parts list for your PC:

HP PartSurfer

It comes with a HP 'Erica9' motherboard for which the specs can be found at the link below.

HP Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, Erica9 | HP® Support

The expansion slots refer to a bare motherboard with nothing installed.

There is one slot for a NVME SSD (occupied) and one slot for a M.2 Wi-Fi card (occupied).

Your only option would be to remove the 512 GB NVMe SSD and replace it with one having a greater storage capacity.

After doing some research, and I could be incorrect, there are two SSD slots associated with this unit.  One has the 512 already installed and the other has the other has the wireless radio module for wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity.  Stating that - I believe that my only option is to replace the 512gb with the new SSD card.    If I am incorrect, please respond.  If I had to replace, it does involve additional steps to get the computer to work.

Thank you for verifying that info. I was hoping to be proven wrong.
