I spent about 5 hours deleting old pictures that were duplicate off the SimpleSave drive and only gained about 30 GB.  I feel at this rate I can't get the usage down significantly.   Now, I only have 167 GB on my hard drive so what is taking up all the space?   Has anyone else have this experience?   Thank you.

After reading what I posted I realized that I did not give enough information.   Feeling somewhat dumb ...

I use my SimpleSave as a backup for my PC , standard configuration.   Before posting, I had deleted all unnecessary backups from the C:\ drive and started to work on my thousands of pictures thinking that they were taking up a lot of space but they were not.  That is when I posted the above.

Good News is I found the problem.   I had many automatic Windows Backups stored on my PC back to 2016.   Somehow I did not realize that I should be deleting these backups.   I deleted three backups for 2016/2017 and gained  250 GB.

Thanks for listening and have a good day ,   MaryB8

Hello
we can't guess, unfortunately!
You have indicated an HP simplesave, this is normally a backup disk, with in general automatic function!
We cannot know how this backup is configured, you probably have something other than photos?

this is an example of a model
