Hi,
I bought my HP envy x360-15-bq150na with SN:[Personal Information Removed] few years back from Currys shop. I had no problem until recently; switching on and off became a problem and thus takes too long to go off or come on.
Apparently the fault is smart drive failure 302.
I got across to Currys Technicians and their respond is shocking, "we cannot source replacement parts for this model."
My question now is what do they want me to do?
The Technicians are supposed to provide solutions, sadly their response is not a solution but rather a very disappointing feedback.
I need a solution and that brings me to ask, what is the way forward?
What can be done so that I am able to have a perfectly working laptop.
Thank you and I anticipate a positive response.
Kind regards,
Robin Ifi

Hi:
The report and code is indicating that you will need to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

Rather than replacing the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with the same kind, you may as well replace it with a better performing 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).
According to chapter 1 of the service manual, your notebook also has a M.2 slot that supports a NVMe SSD which is even a better performing drive than a SATA SSD is.
After you replace the drive with either type, you can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive.

Since you have to use the tool on another PC to create the installation media, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window to create the recovery media.
Your PC's product number is: 2PH22EA#ABU.
Recommended replacement SSD's:
2.5" SATA:
M.2 NVMe:
