Hi,
could someone advise me on this issue?
I am looking to install a second NVME card in the socket 1, key A slot of my motherboard.
I appreciate the speed reduction of the x2 capabilities of the socket, but want the capacity it would bring.
Cheers in advance.

Hi:
I think you meant to write Key M.
The Key A M.2 socket is can only be used for a Wi-Fi adapter.

Yes, the M.2 slot where the Intel Optane memory is located can be deactivated and removed and an M.2 NVMe SSD installed in its place.
See the last two sections at the link below for how to properly remove the Intel Optane memory.

You would disable it in the Intel RST software first.
I don't know why HP would list disabling it in the BIOS first (if your PC as a setting for that).

Hi and thank you for the reply. I am currently utilising a OEM installed drive in socket 2 and my installed intel potable card in socket 1, as described.
my question therefore stand. Can I install a new NVME in socket 1, removing the Intel optane unit.
cheers again.
