Hello,
I have a registered device on your site.
HP Elitedesk 800 g2 mini, i7 -6700 CPU, 16 GB RAM…
Since my disk is only 256 GB, I would like to upgrade it with more capacity.
My plan is to replace this disc with a new one. However, since I use this computer for music, the speed of the disc is also important. As I see it, my motherboard also accepts M.2 NMVe SSD.
My question is. Does the system allow me to swap SATA SSD for NMVe SSD? So my current disc Samsung 2.5” 256GB SSD (MZ-7PD256M) for a new Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB NMVe.(MZ-V7S500BW)?
It is a 7x faster disc. Is this drive suitable for my computer and will it work approximately?
Thanks for your support
Best Regards
Ales

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
I believe you can do this. I don't work for HP and don't have access to insider details.
Your PC supports one M.2 2280 PCIe drive (Link). This fact is documented on page 28 in the Maintenance and Service Guide.
Drive capacity should not be a limiting factor.

Thank you,
Yeah, I've already found that. But I also found somewhere on this forum that the G2 port-M.2 SSD does not support or can not use as system disk but only for storage. And that bothered me a little.
I hope you are right and thank you so much for an answer
