Solved!

Standard hardware security not supported

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion HPE h8-1260t CTO Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Device does not meet Windows requirements for standard hardware security.  Does system provide "secure boot" or what settings in BIOS need to be changed?

@a-bit-bothered , welcome to the forum.

 

Your motherboard has a standard/Legacy BIOS.  It doesn't have UEFI: https://www.howtogeek.com/56958/HTG-EXPLAINS-HOW-UEFI-WILL-REPLACE-THE-BIOS/.

 

Therefore, it doesn't have a Secure Boot option.  The fact is, I don't believe that you will find many, if any, options in the BIOS to change the Security.  You can go into the BIOS and check the Security Tab to see what is available.  In 2012 there wasn't much security added in Win 7.  Of course, now Win 10 wants your older computer to comply with its demands -- upgrade your security!!  You simply can't comply.

Thanks for the helping hand.  You're right--no secure boot and nothing in the security tab.  Time for an upgrade.  Any recommendations?
