Hi, so I have the GT15-0023na omen 25l with a ryzen 55600g and I tried to upgrade it to an ryzen 55600x, but when I turn it on it boots like normal but after like 30 seconds it just shuts down. IT also showed something about a bit locker recovery key. This all happened when I pi the 55600x in. Any ideas on what to do
thank you

Greetings @DaniG3
Welcome to the HP Forum.
I don't use Device Encryption (BitLocker) to avoid the problems you are now having.
Problem one: Well, if Windows is using Device Encryption and you don't have the BitLocker recovery key then you have this problem.
The BitLocker key is stored in the TPM located in the 5600G.
The BitLocker recovery key should be available from Microsoft if you are using a Microsoft account sign in. But you may be in a catch 22 since the recovery key is not stored in the 5600X.
Problem two: Your PC's MB supports the 5600X so I am at a loss as to why the system shuts down.
Is the 5600X new? Maybe you have a bad CPU.
The existing CPU cooler should be good to go since the 5600X has a 65 watt TDP.
The PC would not be booting normally if it shuts down and you can't get to the Windows sign in screen.
Any other error messages besides the "BitLocker" error?
Have you tried the 5600G again to see what happens? You might see a BitLocker recovery key request if the PC works okay using the 5600G.

Greetings @DaniG3
Do you have the BitLocker recovery key? You need this.
Check your Microsoft account to see if the recovery key is available..
You're cooked if you don't have the recovery key. Data on the system drive is forever inaccessible.
You will have to reinstall Windows.

Greetings @DaniG3
Can you sign in to Windows using the 5600G?
If yes, then disable Windows Device Encryption in Control Panel (turn off BitLocker).
After confirming BitLocker is off then try the 5600X again.
The 5600X may have a problem if the PC will not POST and you can't sign in to Windows when BitLocker is off.
You could have a local PC Tech check the 5600X to see if it works in a different MB.
Regards.

Greetings @DaniG3
No, I am not saying the PC shuts down, when using the 5600X, because of BitLocker.
You need to test the 5600X: in your PC again with Windows BitLocker disabled or in a different MB (no BitLocker) to see what's going on.
Or disconnect your PC's system drive. Then see if the PC will POST using the 5600X. You don't need an operating system to check for a good POST.
The 5600X may have a problem if the PC shuts down.
