EliteDesk 705 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, i have just built hp mini pc from parts and encountered System Board (00A) problem during boot.

Pc requested several codes and IDs.

partsurfer.hp.com can provide necessary numbers but to get them you need correct Serial Number of pc.

My mini pc:

Elitedesk 705 G2 mini pc - new (virgin) motherboard with embedded cpu in used ProDesk 400 G2 mini pc case.

There is serial number on case but i assume it will not work because it is from different machine.

Is there any way i can get correct (for my mobo) Serial Number and other codes?

Thanks

I am not sure exactly what you have nor what you are asking about.

here is a Elitedesk 705 G2 motherboard and a pair of part numbers are listed by the seller.

on the other hand you mention "embedded CPU" but that motherboard is socketed.

When you power it up does a code on the screen?  ie: "00A" or is that the LED printout of a diagnostic device?

Who / what is asking for codes and IDs?  I am not familiar with your system and need more info.

Thank you for taking a time to look at my problem.

Apparently PC is stuck in manufacturing programming mode (MPM).

And this happened because mobo is new. It is hp part no: 810662-001WP_20211130_18_55_41_Pro.jpgs-l1600 (8).jpg

I get this message:
Product Information not valid.
The following product information programmed into the system board is missing or invalid.

System Board (00A) - FeatureByte
System Board (00A) - Build ID
System Board (00A) - Serial Number
System Board (00A) - SKU Number
System Board (00A) - Product Name

There is a chance to extract this numbers from partsurfer.hp.com but i need serial number to do this.

Is there a chance to get from hp all this numbers? or just serial number?

PC doesn't go into bios. Instead this MPM screen appears.

From what i understood, this is some sort of pre-bios they supposed to deactivate at the end of production process to allow normal mobo functions

I think those items are part of a Bios Configuration tool or System / Device Management tool. I once download a BCT thinking it would unlock hidden menus in the bios.  All it did (there are several BCTs) was allow customization of the initial or OEM screen plus set other items.  I think these tools are restricted because some allow you to set the MAC address.

One BCT is explained here

All the tools I have looked at are used AFTER the system has booted into the OS it is designed for.

You are asked to enter in values. If you press Y what does it ask for?  I am guessing that all except for the "Feature Byte" can be made up.  There is a lot of google bing noise concerning the feature byte

Good Luck!
