I need to replace the old HDD with a brand new SSD, for better performance. I removed the old HDD, plugged-in the new SSD, plugged-in the HP Cloud Recovery USB key and start the system. The system hangs on the POST screen with the message "Premere il tasto ESC per il menu avvio" (Press the ESC key for the boot menu). If I shutdown the system and unplug the HDD the boot menu is available and the BIOS shows no HDD plugged-in, right. If I shutdown the system, remove the HDD, use an USB-to-SATA adapater to plug the SSD, so the system shows the boot menu, the Recovery procedure starts. But when i re-plug-in the SSD on the internal SATA cable the system won't boot. Any help is very appreciated.
BIOS Revision: 8381 vF.51 - Date: 05-Feb-2019
thanks, Enrico

Based on your description it looks like the SSD is not supported on your computer. However, to confirm the same, I would need the product number for your computer.

The only expansion slot available on your computer is M.2 socket 1, 2230 type for WLAN and there is no slot available for SSD.
Hope that answers your question.

Your computer is not tested with SSDs by HP. As informed earlier your computer doesn't support SSD.
