System has become very slow and HDD is active 100% of the time.  Disk performance tests pass but don't tell me how fast it is performing.

I would like to add an internal  SSD,, clone the HDD and switch over to the SSD.  How can I add the internal SSD.?  I have a Sansung 870 EVO SSD and a USB adapter cable.  I believe I need a SATA adapter cable instead and a hardware mounting tray.   What hardware do I need and where can I get it?

Hi @RLHerbelin

Your MB probably has BIOS version F.57. This BIOS version (if you are on this version) may be causing the problem.

Check Control Panel, Windows Tools, System Information for the current BIOS version.

Install BIOS version F.58. This should fix the problem.

Be patient. Don't shut down the PC during the BIOS update process. Loss of AC power will corrupt the BIOS.

Let the forum know if BIOS version F.58 fixes the problem.

Follow @Donaldson540 's thoughts if you want to upgrade the storage device. That is a great upgrade.

You can do a SATA SSD or a M.2 NVME SSD after updating the BIOS.

Regards
