I have an HP all in one model 24-g021. It turns on but gives 2 long beeps and the screen appears Dark, Black screen,

At first it had several thin and thick vertical lines, then it went dark and gave 2 long warning beeps.

Hi @MeRoma,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your HP All-in-One. It can be concerning when the screen goes dark and the device emits warning beeps. Let’s work together to diagnose and resolve the problem. Here are a few questions to better understand your situation:

  • Before the screen went dark, did you notice any unusual behavior, like overheating or fan noise, which might indicate a hardware issue?
  • Have you tried connecting an external monitor to check if the display issue is limited to the built-in screen?
  • Did you make any recent changes to the system, such as software updates, adding hardware, or moving the device, that could have impacted its components?

Let's try these steps.

Identify the Beep Code Meaning:

  • The 2 long beeps may indicate a specific hardware failure. Refer to the HP Support page or your system's documentation to decode the beep pattern. Commonly, it points to memory or display issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the device and disconnect all cables, including power.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect only the power cable and try turning the device on again.

Test with an External Monitor:

  • Connect an external monitor via the HDMI or VGA port to determine if the issue is with the display or the internal graphics hardware.
  • If the external monitor works, the problem is likely with the built-in screen or its connections.

Inspect Memory Modules:

  • Power off the system, disconnect the power cable, and open the back panel.
  • Carefully reseat the RAM modules by removing and reinserting them into their slots.
  • If you have more than one RAM stick, try testing the system with one stick at a time to identify a faulty module.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  • If the system briefly powers on, press F2 during startup to access HP Diagnostics and run a full system test.
  • If the diagnostics don’t run, the issue might be more critical, such as a failed motherboard or graphics component.

If the problem persists after these steps, it may require servicing, as the issue could be related to the graphics chip or display panel.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
