Ok my on-board graphics is starting to take a dump so I need a new graphics card. The only hard core graphics I use is for a flite simulator for rc aircraft called RealFlight 9.5 and I run it through a program called Steam it's for gamers you can get nearly any game there. Anyway my Pavillion P6702w needs a new graphics card and I don't know what will fit and work with the stock power supply (PSU). Can you give me a few suggestions please.

Hi:
Your PC has a legacy BIOS which means you have to install a legacy graphics card.
Since your PC only has a 250W power supply, I recommend either one of these cards which should be better than the onboard AMD HD 4200 GPU.
AMD Radeon HD 6450 or the Nvidia GT 210.
You should be able to find either one of these cards on eBay in used but tested and working condition and they should be fairly reasonable in cost.
I prefer the fanless models which are completely silent and have no fan to conk out on you.
The Dell-branded HD 6450 cards should work fine.
I have used those in my old HP PCs in the past.
They are both low profile cards but make sure the card you buy comes with the standard size mounting bracket and not the low-profile mounting bracket used in slim tower PC's.

I run RealFlight 9.5on my desktop with an RX5500.
I just looked up your desktop and could not find anything on it in the HP support portals. I searched deeper and found that it is a model from the 2012 timeframe.
If your onboard graphics is failing, your Athlon II x4 processor is probably on its way south as well.
I wouldn't sink @$250.00+ into a PC of that generation, but those are just my thoughts and economics calculation. The upgrade cost would be more than the PC is worth.
I highly recommend that you source something more modern. I gifted a friend of mine a refurbished PC with enough grunt to run Realflight 9.5 with full graphics for less than $450.00.

The PC is from 2010.

A used but tested and working AMD HD 6540 graphics card will set a person back a whopping $10 - $20.
The GT 210 a wee bit more...
If the OP is running RealFlight 9.5 with the onboard Radeon HD 4200 GPU, certainly it should work with one of the above graphics cards as well.

Your suggestion is a far better option in case everything comes crashing down.
I concur with the minimal investment.
