HP Z440 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A few months ago I bought a HP Z440 workstation to replace my slow Laptop. I upgraded the graphics card and put a PCIe wifi card in. Now I am looking at upgrading the RAM from 16GB to 24GB by purchasing a third 8GB stick. My current budget means that I am unable to purchase more than one more stick.

Would adding a third stick and increasing the RAM amount from 16GB to 24GB be worth it and will it work with my CPU and Motherboard?

@etienneunai,

Unhappily you did not consult the RAM configuration setup.  There are "good" and "best" setups.  Your setup is only "good".

Pg 10 Memory,  pg 14 Memory configuration setup,  and I am unsure if you put what you have in the correct slot pairs.  It is pairs ONLY above an 12 GB setup.

As far as needed, open Task Manager , Performance tab.  You can determine idle, and various load potentials.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
