Hi, I am planning to buy an e-gpu with Thunderbolt 4 so I need Thunderbolt 4 on my desktop. I was wondering if my desktop is compatible with a Thnderbolt 4 PCI-e addin card? Can anyone confirm? I have a HP ProDesk 400 G7 SFF.

I am not an expert on thunderbolt. I have a USB-C port oin the back of my RTX-2080. Supposedly it is good for thunderbolt but my CPU is only 7th gen. I do suspect that a PCIe card with "Thunderbolt 4" can fit in an empty slot and possibly might work but probably not at 40bps speed (about 5 megabytes per second)
Intel started adding thunderbolt features to 11th generation CPU. I think your system is 10th generation. IYou need to do some research on this topic. Intel is in charge of their implementation (11 gen chips) and Intel has a forum.
