My tp01-3016 desktop isn't finding a new wd m.2 ssd a sn850x. This is the second wd m.2 I've tried and it shows up in bios but not in windows installer. Wd just wants to keep swapping out the drive, this is nuts, my computer is down for a month now. Does the model hp desktop only accept certain nvme m.2 drives? Please help, losing patience fast.

Hi:
I don't quite understand what you mean by the drive not showing up in windows installer.
Do you mean when you get to the part of the installation that asks, 'Where do you want to install Windows?' you get a message that Windows cannot find any drives to install on?
If that's the case, that is to be expected since you have to install the Intel storage controller drivers for any Intel platform with an Intel 11th gen or newer Core processor.
So, if I have correctly understood the problem, I have zipped up and attached the storage controller drivers you should need for Windows to find the drive.
The driver is good for the Intel 11th - 13th gen core processors.
Unzip the file I attached and copy the driver folder to a USB flash drive.
Plug the flash drive into one of your PC's available USB ports.
When you are at the screen that reports that Windows cannot find any drives, click on the Load driver option.
Browse to the USB flash drive with the storage controller driver files on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Click Next, and hopefully Windows will install.
