Microsoft Windows 11

Hi there,

I recently purchased the HP Envy TE01-1244 for office use and would like to have a triple monitor setup.

I have tried using a USB Display Adapter but it doesn't seem to work, is there a specific Display Adapter that i need?

I have browsed around the web to look for answers and it seems that I need to install a graphics card for this triple monitor setup. I am not using this desktop for gaming or anything, only for work purposes. The graphics card is only intended to add another HDMI port I can plug into for the third monitor. Can you recommend a cheap graphics card that supports this desktop?

I am looking for one that does not require me to upgrade the power supply as well, but if that is not possible, can you recommend one for that as well?

Hi @FabrielEbel,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP Envy Desktop TE01-1244 is a mid-range desktop PC that typically comes with integrated graphics. If you want to set up a triple monitor configuration, you may indeed need to add a dedicated graphics card since integrated graphics might not support more than two displays simultaneously.

Here are some steps to consider.

  • Check Current Ports: First, make sure you've fully explored your current ports. Most desktops have multiple video outputs, including HDMI, DisplayPort, and sometimes DVI. Ensure you've used all available ports on your current setup.
  • Graphics Card: To add support for a third monitor, you'll need to buy a budget-friendly graphics card. For work purposes, you don't need a high-end gaming graphics card. Something like an NVIDIA GT 1030 or AMD Radeon RX 550 should suffice. These are relatively inexpensive and offer multiple video outputs.
  • System Compatibility: Make sure the graphics card you choose is compatible with your HP Envy Desktop. Check the physical space inside your PC to ensure it can accommodate the graphics card, and also ensure your power supply can handle the extra load if needed.
  • Driver Installation: After installing the graphics card, you'll need to install the appropriate drivers. Go to the NVIDIA or AMD website, depending on the graphics card you choose, and download the latest drivers for your card and operating system.
  • Connect Monitors: Once the drivers are installed, connect your third monitor to the additional HDMI or DisplayPort output on the new graphics card.
  • Configure Displays: In your operating system settings (Windows or macOS), configure your displays. You can arrange them as needed, set the correct resolutions, and choose whether to extend or duplicate your desktop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
