Hello!

I'm trying to upgrade my Z440 from no GPU to having a 1070ti in it. The issue lies in the 1070ti needing two 8 pin conectors. I've read a load of threads mentioning an official hp adapter from the two 6 pins (from the 700 watt psu), two 8 pins. I've heard that the 6 pins in the Z440 are not standard wattage rating stuffs and so this should be ok right?

My issue lies in not being able to find any of these connectors. I've found this:

And so I've been looking for two 683867-001, I also found a listing for a 460621-002.

Are there other model numbers I can search for? Does HP have a place where they sell these themselves? Is there some place I can get two of these without spending 200$?

Thank you!

you people need to learn how to do basic searches, both on this forum using the SEARCH link and from your browser using google

Google: keywords " HP 6 to 8 pin GPU adapter"

very first link AMAZON (imagine that!)

HP 6pin to 8pin Power Supply Adapter N1G35AA

the Gold Standard, top notch construction, nothing better

https://www.amazon.com/HP-Power-Supply-Adapter-N1G35AA/dp/B011Z74OGW

eBay: HP OEM 6 to 8 adapter acceptable build quality

last, several posters including myself have covered this topic numerous times in previous posts

please make it a habit to search previous posts before yet again asking for something already answered numerous times

My apologies! I should have been more specific in saying that I did already search around for where to find the cable. The question I should have asked is, "Should I get the one off ebay? It looks nothing like the one off Amazon, and thus I question its safety. Is "https://www.ebay.com/itm/146304256614" safe to buy? Is it rated for the full 225 watts the 6 pins are rated as?"

Taco,

The picture you showed on your first post is from the HP PartSurfer, which shows HP "Spares part numbers".

Those are different from the HP "Assembly part numbers" which are what you find on labels attached to the part or embossed into the plastic or metal.

You got your answer already from DGroves. Your link gets me to a nothing-there eBay page. If it does not look like what he directed you to then it is not the part, especially if there is no label with HP part numbers on it. There are even examples I've seen that put the HP part number in the ad but don't look like the part and those are fakes.

This has been posted about here in the forum a lot related to PCIe supplemental power cables.

P.S. Don't let the smoke out... it is hard to get back in.
