Have you verified the keyboard as non-operational by plugging it into a USB port on another desktop PC or laptop?
The specifications show your 24-Dd0010 was delivered with a wired (USB) keyboard and mouse. Try a different USB port.
What do you mean by "but out of warranty & HP won't allow access."?
Access to what?
If you verify the keyboard as not working, just go to a store or Amazon or another vendor and purchase a wired or wireless keyboard. YOur PC is out of warranty so it will be on your dime.
