Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My son has an HP Desktop. He recently tried to upgrade his graphics card, and found that the CPU won't run the graphics card well. Now he wants to upgrade the CPU. I want to make sure that the CPU he found is compatible with the current motherboard, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to tell. Below are screen shots of the computer info (for the motherboard) and a link to the CPU he would like to buy. Any advice/websites, etc. to figure out how to check this out would be appreciated.

Intel® Core™ i7-8700K Processor

Hi, @avonlea18

Below is the link to the product specs page for your PC, based on the product number (Z5N95AA) shown in your screenshot.

HP Pavilion Power 580-023w Desktop PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

The best processor you can install in that model is the i7-7700, so the i7-8700K processor would not work.

See the processor upgrade info under the motherboard specs link...
