Hello everyone,
im trying to upgrade the motherboard and cpu (and ram) for a 2016 OMEN X 900-021NG.
I cant find a manual for this build online and im lost on where to find it.
I already know I need a new Micro ATX Board but i still dont know if I also have to switch the watercooling since im not sure which sockel it fits.
Doing all of this to upgrade to win11, as far as I know no cpu that is supported from that board can handle win11

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Your OMEN X by HP Desktop PC - 900-021ng as fitted with the Munich-S motherboard (SSID: 81B6) has a very unique and quite honestly, amazing design!
When fitted with an i7-6700K processor, paired with 4x8GB RAM running at 2133 MHz -or even at 2400 MHz, such as this user was apparently able to do with 4x8GB Hynix HMA81GU6AFR8N-UH: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/45917936, and a decent graphics card, and an M.2 NVMe SSD as your primary (boot) drive, you should still be able to play games at acceptable high 1080P settings.
If you are happy with your system as it is, there are a number of reliable and effective methods developed which would allow you to almost effortlessly upgrade your PC to Windows 11, such as this easy-to-follow YouTube instructional video shows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSrmhhigEhY&t=332s&ab_channel=Tips2Fix.
In the off-chance you don't like W11, you have 10 days to roll back to Windows 10. After 10 days, unless you follow the steps outlined in this instructional video, you may need to do a fresh install of Windows 10. Either way, this video will show you what to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v9_-4JCh_U&ab_channel=Tips2Fix.

When you follow the steps in the W11 upgrade video, you will not see any such messages.
Trust me, I have recently upgraded a 2nd gen Intel Core system using this method and no such messages showed up.
Just make sure you follow these instructions to the letter: including choosing the correct language associated with your Windows license!
