Wich type of ssd card can i use for my desktop computer.

SATA or PCIe interface ?

 

Can i use this type of SSD : NVMe PCIe® Gen3 x4 M.2 2280

I bought a WD Blue SN550 500 Go M.2 PCIe NVME SSD

Easy installation and recognized by my PC

I did not find the screw to fix the card and it's abnormal  !!

Because i'm impatient, I used a screw from the DVD player (I never use it, just a sticky tape to fix the player) --> idea for others 😅

II tried the windows disk cloning with 2 software like clonezilla but impossible to change the boot (I changed very well the bios settings and uefi exist and verified) -- starting problem every time and i think HP block it !!!!!! WHYYYYYYY😵

 

II'm tryning a new installation of windows 10 on the new SSD (2nd windows boot)

possible or not ???? i'm tryning

 

I don't have a CD installation --> solution that i found : create USB Drive installation

 

1st try : HP Cloud Recovery --> fail after mannnnnnny hours  (12 hours !!!) and i don't know why 😫 🤕😠

2nd try : HP Cloud Recovery --> fail

I hace a very good connection 

 

3rd try : Microsoft Media Creation

I hope that recognition of my key from the BIOS is automatic

Hi:

 

Yes, the Windows product key is in the BIOS, so it should automatically pick up the key when you install it.

 

Perhaps you should temporarily disconnect your 3.5" hard drive and get Windows up and running on the SSD before you connect it back up.

 

Another issue is that I believe that the PC will always want to boot from the hard drive first if it has an operating system installed on it.

 

That is why I recommend you leave it disconnected for now, to make sure the SSD works fine.

 

You may want to try the cloud recovery tool with the hard drive disconnected as well.

 

Here is the issue with the cloud recovery tool.  Since your PC was configured with a hard drive, the tool wants to install Windows on the hard drive, not the SSD.
