Hello, I have purchased an Hp Compaq Elite 8300 CMT with 8GB of RAM, I want to upgrade to 16GB but I have a question. Of the 8GB of RAM, they are a 4GB Samsung module and a 2X2 Micron, all have the same frequency and voltage, could I buy an 8GB module the same as Samsung's, or would there be any problem? Thank you.

@MarioTumo , welcome to the forum.
Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the computer: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03612798
On Pages 81 thru 85 is a full explanation of the memory and how to populate the sockets. The main thing to consider is, the motherboard supports Dual channel architecture. This means that it is best to use matching sets of memory to receive maximum performance. Also, it mentions as follows:
For proper system operation, the DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs must be:
●industry-standard 240-pin
●unbuffered non-ECC PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 MHz-compliant
●1.5 volt DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs
The DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs must also:
●support CAS latency 11 DDR3 1600 MHz (11-11-11 timing)
●contain the mandatory JEDEC SPD information
In addition, the computer supports:
●512-Mbit, 1-Gbit, and 2-Gbit non-ECC memory technologies
●single-sided and double-sided DIMMs
●DIMMs constructed with x8 and x16 DDR devices; DIMMs constructed with x4 SDRAM are notsupported
Read all of the information carefully and it should answer your questions.

@MarioTumo, it is never a good idea to mix brands of memory. They are not always compatible. I hesitate to say it would work. As I stated, if you want the best performance from your memory, it is best to install matched sets. You can contact the memory manufacturer's Tech Support to see if they can tell you if it will be compatible with the existing memory.
