Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Windows update isn't finding any suitable drivers for this external hardware.

USB\VID_049F&PID_0054&REV_0200

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device.

Please advise?  I have multiple drives that I use in this multibay drive to support old media (DVD(RW)/CD(RW)/LS120/1.44).

I did find another similar post from 2022, but the link is dead.

@JamesJ74 , welcome to the Community.

What is the brand and model of the drive?  I need this information to verify the specifications.

The USB Multibay is an HP Ext MB Cradle: PO7456

I have 4 drives that I'm trying to get functioning (they all seem to get power, eject etc):

Compaq DVD-ROM DRD-U424

Compaq CD-RW/DVD-ROM SD-R2102

Compaq LS120 Drive LKM-FC33-802

Compaq 1.44 Drive 135233-001

I know these are all pretty old...  The hardware seems to be working however, so it's just a software/drivers issue.

Thank you for the additional information, @JamesJ74!

I don't believe that you will find drivers for these drives because they are too old.  HP only furnishes driver updates for 5 years, unless there is a major problem across many models.  Drivers are difficult to develop and HP has thousands of computers to update.
