Hi,
The right front(top) USB port doesnt work on my Omen 25L. Its completly dead and has not worked ever since I bought it a couple of months ago. I get a 24 digit failure code when I scan the hardware for faults.
Is this a common issue and is there a fix for it?
Best regards
J

Hi @Johlar1781,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue with the USB port on your OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT14-2000i could be due to several factors, including hardware faults or driver issues.
Here are some steps you can take to address the problem:
Check for Physical Issues:
- Ensure there are no physical obstructions or damage to the USB port.
- Try plugging different USB devices into the port to rule out a device-specific issue.
Update Drivers:
- Go to the Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.
- Right-click on each USB controller and select "Update driver."
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:
- Restart your PC and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, F10, DEL, or ESC during startup).
- Look for USB settings and ensure that all USB ports are enabled.
- Save and exit BIOS/UEFI settings.
Run Hardware Diagnostics:
- HP desktops often come with built-in diagnostic tools. You can access them by pressing F2 during startup or by using HP Support Assistant.
- Run a diagnostic test to see if it identifies any issues with the USB hardware.
Inspect and Reseat Internal Connections:
- If you're comfortable opening your PC case, check the internal connections to ensure the USB port is properly connected to the motherboard.
- Disconnect and reconnect any internal cables related to USB ports.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your Windows 11 operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, updates can fix compatibility issues with hardware.
