@VIJAY349, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're dealing with an issue where the USB port on your HP All-in-One Desktop PC isn't working consistently, and you've unfortunately lost two pen drives due to the instability. This could be caused by various factors, such as a driver issue, a problem with the USB port itself, or even a software conflict. Here are some steps from HP that you can try to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

Check the USB Port and Device:

Try other USB devices: Test the USB port with different devices to see if the problem is specific to the pen drive or the port itself.

Try other USB ports: If your desktop has multiple USB ports, try plugging the pen drive into a different port to see if it works more reliably.

Perform a Hard Reset:

A hard reset can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.

Turn off your PC completely.

Unplug the power cable and any other connected peripherals (including the USB devices).

Hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.

Plug everything back in and power the system back on.

Update USB Drivers:

Sometimes, outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with USB ports. You can update them through Device Manager:

Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.

Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus controllers and expand the section.

Right-click on each USB Root Hub and choose Update driver.

Select Search automatically for updated driver software and let Windows search for the latest drivers.

You can also visit the HP Support website to download the latest drivers for your specific desktop model (HP All-in-One Desktop PC 27-cb1000i).

Check Power Settings:

Windows power settings can sometimes disable USB ports to save power.

Open Control Panel (type "Control Panel" in the search box and press Enter).

Go to Power Options.

Click on Change plan settings next to your selected power plan.

Click on Change advanced power settings.

In the Power Options window, expand USB settings, then expand USB selective suspend setting.

Set it to Disabled and click Apply.

Check for Windows Updates:

Sometimes, problems with USB ports can be resolved with a system update.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Check for updates and install any that are available.

BIOS Update:

A BIOS update can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues. You can check for BIOS updates for your PC model on the HP Support website.

Download the BIOS update (if available) from HP's support page for your model.

Follow the instructions carefully to update the BIOS. Be cautious when updating BIOS, as it can affect the overall system performance if done incorrectly.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
