Hi @thesonofthecros,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the USB ports on your HP Pavilion All-in-One PC 27 are not functioning and hardware diagnostics confirm the failure, here are steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Verify Hardware Status

  • Inspect Ports Physically: Check for visible damage, dust, or debris in the USB ports.
  • Try a Different Device: Connect multiple known-working USB devices to the ports to confirm they're not functional.

Power Reset

A full power reset can resolve hardware recognition issues.

  1. Shut down the PC completely.
  2. Unplug all devices and disconnect the power cable.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power and boot the system.

Update or Reinstall USB Drivers

Check Device Manager:

  • Press Win + X > Select Device Manager.
  • Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  • Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark or listed as Unknown Device.

Update Drivers:

  • Right-click each USB device and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.

Uninstall and Reinstall:

  • Right-click on all USB controllers and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart the PC. Windows will reinstall the drivers automatically.

BIOS/UEFI Update

  1. Check for Updates:
    • Go to the HP Support website.
    • Enter your PC model and download the latest BIOS and firmware updates.
  2. Install the updates and restart your PC.

System Restore or Rollback

If the issue started recently:

  1. Press Win + R and type rstrui to launch System Restore.
  2. Select a restore point before the issue began.

Alternatively:

  • Check Windows Update for any USB-related driver updates or roll back to a previous version.

Test in Safe Mode

Boot into Safe Mode to determine if the issue is software-related:

  1. Press Win + R > Type msconfig.
  2. Go to the Boot tab > Check Safe Boot.
  3. Restart the PC and test the USB ports.

Perform Hardware Tests

Use HP's hardware diagnostics to confirm USB hardware failure:

  1. Restart the PC and press F2 repeatedly during boot to enter HP Diagnostics.
  2. Run the Component Tests > Select USB Ports.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
