Hi I'm hoping to get some help, I just bought a new HP Slim Desktop S01-PF3xxx
SKU 7P4K7AA#ABA
BaseBoard Product 8B3C
BaseBoard Version A (SMVB)
BIOS Version/Date AMI F.05, 2/8/2023
SMBIOS Version 3.5
I recently bought a usb speaker for this computer. There appears to be an issue with the usb root hub I believe.
When I plug in the speaker to any usb port (front or back) the speaker works as expected.
When I power down the computer and hit the power button to power it back up, the speaker works as expected.
But when I reboot, the system does not detect the USB speaker unless I unplug and re-plug.
Solutions I've tried that did not work:
1.Went into device manager and selected USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) power management tab, took the check mark out of "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
2. Went into device manager and selected Intel(R) USB 3.20 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.20(Microsoft) power management tab, took the check mark out of "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
3.Went into control panel - power options and changed advanced power settings - USB settings - USB selective suspend setting - set to Disabled
I also tested the speaker on 2 other computers, both work as expected. After a reboot the speaker is detected and works.
Any help is appreciated.
