Hello everyone,
I run the HP Image Assistant, and it shows this problem that needs attention, SP136231 Intel Management Engine Driver 2141.15.0.2511 version. By letting the HP Assistant to download extract and install it automatically, it says Status successfully installed, version 2042.0.13.0 (Intel Active Management Technology - SOL (COM3) Intel Management Engine Interface). To me, that is supposed to have done it. Yet when I restart the machine, and run the HPIA again, there it appears to be critical as status again and need to redo it once more. I repeatedly did it but to no avail.
I tried to download it from this link, but once I got the zipped installer, I got lost not knowing how to install it. I extracted the zipped folder and I found there so many other file and I was not sure which one to install. I attempted to right click the SetupME in the ME_SW_MSI folder and run as Administrator, but it stopped on the way saying "error" in red cross. I gave up.
Kindly help, please.
Note: The OS is Win 11 just been upgraded from Win10, 64 bit.

Sorry, I can't follow you!
You started by telling me about a problem with a specific driver, but now you're mentioning different drivers, and two different computers!
just simply answer my question, without worrying about the HP download manager!
Once you have installed the IME driver, open the device manager, and see the version that is installed!
please don't mix up the indications with the two computers, i just want to talk about what you said first

Hi
"it says Status successfully installed, version 2042.0.13.0"
Did you check directly from Device Manager?
it indicates success, but it is not the same indicated, I do not understand there?

Prométhée:
Thank you for your prompt reply. In fact I have two identical machines, one is the English Language Windows, and the other French one. I have no problem with the English version as all of the drivers have been made right, but it is the French one which gives me this headache. Both of the machines didn't have WLAN card installed in them before the upgrade to Win11. After the upgrade I added the card to each one of the machine - Intel Wireless-AC 9260 160MHz, with Device status in their property saying both, "This device is working properly" . The English machine had no problem with it, either. But I am not sure if this has caused this issue with the French one.
Next, I did install the setup you sent me in your reply. Unfortunately, the result was the same. So, I re-installed the one recommended by HPIA for the sake of this investigation.
Now, we are dealing with the French System machine. I checked the Device Manager, there was no problem there either with the Intel Management Engine Driver or with the WLAN card. I have to show you the pictures (FIVE of them) for you to visualize the problem. Unfortunately, they are in French, my sincere apology. (I hope also, there is no overlooked personal data is being exposed on the pictures while I am presenting them publicly now, if there is, let me know, please, I will edit them.)
Here are the pictures.
(1) The Device Manager (This one is in English, as both machines are identical having the same components except languages.)
(2) The second one shows the result of the HPIA check: One component being with the driver out-of-date
(3) The third picture shows the Recommended Solution, the Intel Management Engine Driver in question now, version 2141.15.0.2511. This was installed and the result is in the next fourth picture, showing "successfully installed" as Status. But upon restarting the machine and confirming the status with HPIA, the same problem persistently re-occurs. That was the reason why I posted this problem at present here for help on this matter.
(4) The fourth picture shows the result after the recommended solution is being carried out, with the SP136231 installed. We can read the Status being displayed to have done successfully.
(5) By clicking on the third Tab from the left, the Device Drivers Tab, it is noticed that FOUR components are with drivers OUT-OF-DATE (as shown on the fifth picture; these are:
- Software components: Intel Management and Security Application Local Management....
- Software components: Intel Wireless Manageability....
- Software components: Intel Dynamic Application Loader Host Interface....
- Software components: Intel iCLS client....
(These four components under the Device Drivers Tab carry the warning symbol/mark as shown in front of the list above.
)
Now the four pictures being pasted below. I need your help, please.
(1) Device Manager component Status
(2)-Summary out-of-date component driver
(3)- Recommended solution
(4)- Successfully installed
(5)- out-of-date drivers

Sorry if I confused you.
(1) I mentioned the two identical computers because the System I am dealing now for help is in FRENCH language, to clarify it ahead (for the sake of other users reading this to assist or with the same problems seeking for help, too) before pasting the screenprints in that French language for not to put them off when seeing a foreign language.
(2) I wanted to correct the OUT-OF-DATE driver of the IME (as shown on the HPIA image), because when I run the HPIA, it warns of this issue out-of-date driver(s) and thus recommending to install the SP136231 for the version 2141.15.0.2511. But once I installed the softPaq, it never get corrected, no matter how many times I repeatedly run it.
Now, let us make it clear that, in your first reply above, you said this, quoting you,
**********************************************************
"it says Status successfully installed, version 2042.0.13.0"
Did you check directly from Device Manager?
it indicates success, but it is not the same indicated, I do not understand there?
**********************************************************
To be honest, I didn't quite understand what you meant then, but now, I do. THAT has led to this solution. All the credit is to you.
For the sake of other users with the same problem, I feel constrained to give the details which led to the solution, as follows.
What the HPIA result shows is not quite straightforward for a novice like me. On one hand it says, "solved," yet at the same time it warns you for the need to update the drivers with the recommended softPaq for it. In fact, one must identify the affected devices in the "Device Drivers" Tab there, and install them one by one MANUALLY. To do that, first, you must know the folder where you have downloaded and extracted the recommended SoftPaq. Next, you need to look at the left side of the list for the exact name (as shown in screenprint image below,) and note also on the right side for the installed/and recommended driver version for it. Then open the Device Manager to look for these components there, and go to the Properties to confirm it. Then after, update the driver right there. Do this one by one till all the out-of-date drivers be completed. Restart the machine, and re-run again the HPIA. Voila, DONE! All these, thanks to Prométhée.
Now I will paste three screeprints below to show you what I have said above.(1) The Left Side of the Device Drivers Tab identifying the affected out-of-date drivers
(2) The Right Side of the Device Drivers Tab identifying the dates and versions of the affected out-of-date drivers
(3) Problem solved
