I can't add a second M.2 SSD to my Slim Desktop for storage.
S01-PF2016 spec HP Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, Akali | HP® Customer Support :
MB: H670 Akali, with two M.2 slots (one 2280 for SSD and the other for WiFi/BT)
CPU: i5 12400 with integrated graphics; 16 gb 3200
Storage: Solidigim P41 Plus SSD (pci-e 4) as boot drive
OS: Win 11 22H2
I added a 2nd NVME SSD via PCI-E adapter in the PCI-e x16 slot. BIOS detects the drive as AHCI/non-raid, but as soon as Window detects the drive during boot-up, the system freezes. I tried using different brands of SSD's and pci-e adapters or using the boot SSD ALONE in the PCI-e slot; all with the same result. It seems this system is incompatible with SSD in the PCI-e slot at all. Any suggestions is appreciated.
