I was unable to respond to a similar question asked here on 08-20-2023, which was never answered...
I have the same issue as above: I have purchased a handful of used Thin Clients T620 and would like to update the BIOS.
- One unit had BIOS version v02.11 (June 01, 2016) and I was able to upgrade to v02.19 successfully.
- One unit had BIOS version v02.10 (August 17, 2015) and I was able to upgrade to v02.19 successfully.
- Many of the other units, however, had BIOS version v02.05 (unable to find date of release anywhere) and it would not upgrade to v02.19.
- One unit had BIOS version v02.02 and was also unable to update to the latest.
My thought was to first update the units to a BIOS in-between what they are running and the latest v02.19, but older BIOS versions are nonexistent online anywhere.
Where can I find older BIOS versions for the HP T620 so that I can update the ancient BIOS that will not let me update to the latest BIOS v02.19??? Can someone please give me some help?

Sorry that I posted a BIOS update that was completely useless to you.
I guess I should have double checked what PC I first looked up.
It looks like HP has removed the earlier updates from their FTP site, but the good news is this reputable 3rd party driver site that I use all of the time has v2.08 and v2.09.
I checked the FTP site before posting this link to see if I could get them directly from HP, but they have been removed.

I hope this helps you better than my first reply did.
I also checked the correct article referencing sp78303 and that file has been removed from HP's FTP site as well.

This is where it would have been, and it is gone...

Do you know which BIOS family the installed version is part of?
HP does not appear to provide any more support for the HP T620 Thin client.
I did find a third party UK website that appears to have information about it. You could eMail the admin and ask. I see only the latest version of the BIOS there.
https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/t620/
Good luck!

Hi, @erico
HP does provide support for the PC:

Hi, @jgreyz
This link indicates that another person updated the BIOS to v1.12.
HP t630 BIOS and firmware (parkytowers.me.uk)
Finding the BIOS v1.12 file took a bit of detective work on my part but here are the info and exe files for sp101848:
Info:

Exe:

Thank you for your response @Erico. I did come across that third party UK website, which is where I learned about all the different revisions of the L40 BIOS, as seen here https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/L40_releases.shtml
I still am unable to find any other ThinClient T620 BIOS version other than the latest one, which I described in my OP does not work on older T620 systems.

Thank you very much for this information @Paul_Tikkanen !!!
With the information you provided, I was able to successfully update the BIOS from v02.02 (or v02.05) to v02.09 first and then after that to the latest v02.19.
