Hi,
I'm having HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-qa176in desktop computer
I recently installed Samsung 980 M2 NVME ssd, on the computer.
The SSD works fine as a secondary drive for storing files, But when I tried to install OS, I'm unable to boot after installing.
I tried cloning my OS, I tried to do a fresh installation also. Both windows 10 and 11 are not working.
Is it a problem with BIOS?
Please help me solve this issue, Thanks.

There are a couple of things that could have gone wrong.
Please answer: Did your system come with a small SSD perhaps 16gb in size or was the M.2 SSD slot empty?
First of all, you need to get the system back to where it can boot. Can it boot into windows?
I believe your system has a 2TB disk drive with windows OS, either 10 or 11.
If the disk is not corrupted possibly we can get it to boot. What error messages, if any, are you seeing when you try to boot up with just the 2tb disk installed?

Thank you for your reply @BeemerBiker
No, the system did not come with an SSD, the m2 slot was empty. So I installed an Samsung 980 SSD to it.
The Windows 10 OS in 2TB hard disk that came with the manufacturer works perfectly.
The issue was that the ssd stops working after 2 or 3 minutes every time I boot,
Either the Blue-screen error pops up, or winload.efi file missing error.
I tried to use the SSD in a different computer, and install windows in it, it works fine, with no errors.
But the HP computer doesn't work.

You may have configuration problem. Your SSD may have been cloned (or confilgured) as AHCI and the SSD may be trying to boot in RST mode.
Go into the bios and see if the boot is configured for AHCI or Intel's RST (rapid storage technology).
If RST then select AHCI.
Can you boot into safe mode? If so, try disabling "fast boot" as follows
from the administrators prompt
Try the above first then try the bios change to avoid RST (assuming you have an Intel system)
[edit] There is another possibility. On the system that can boot up please run "msinfo" and verify that the bytes per sector of your NVME is 512 and not 4096

Thank you for your time and suggestion @BeemerBiker,
Sorry for the delayed reply.
I tried all three suggestions,
1. The default boot configuration is AHCI
2. I tried disabling fast boot
3. The byte sector of nvme is 512
The ssd stops working after 2 or 3 minutes, and disappears from the explorer.
This behavior is not seen in Asus laptop, in that it works fine without any issues.
only in HP system, which I'm using now.
Edit: i also tried an Ubuntu installation the results remain the same.

This is strange or I do not understand what is happening.
I assume you cloned the SSD from the 2GB drive in the HPl which was configured for windows 11 HP
If you are booting the SDD in the Asus some errors should show up as it will take while to download drivers to get windows 11 (the HP config) to work on the ASUS.
Back to booting on the HP ==>
Your HP is booting the 2tb drive, not the SSD drive. The SSD cannot just "disappear" if it is the boot drive. I am guessing that after the HP boots windows 11, the Intel rapid storage driver assigns the SSD to be the rapid storage device and it then disappears.
What happens if you disconnect the 2tb drive from the HP and try to boot?
Your Samsung comes with: Magician, Data Migration or EaseUS Disk copy tools. I have never used EaseUS but the following is what I did to successfully clone window11 to my M.2 Western Digital
I inserted my WD NVME into a USB3 adapter and ran WD clone software (A version of Acronis True Image). It took about 10 minutes to clone a 1tb HDD to the 1tb SSD and the system shut down automatically. I then removed the HDD, attached the M.2 to the motherboard, then booted into the BIOS and made sure that the BIOS would boot the SDD and used AHCI.. The SDD was listed by the windows boot manager as the device to boot. After I made sure that the SSD was booting I attached a 2TB to where the 1TB used to be.
You may see "ubuntu boot" instead of 'windows boot". If you see neither then select sata0 or whatever identifier is used that is attached to the SSD. On my ubuntu systems, once they boot up the bios will remember and used "ubuntu boot" instead of "windows boot" manager. I do not recommend you dual boot windows 11 and ubuntu unless you used a 3rd party boot manager. In any event I suspect you will have to disable / re-enable safe boot depending on what OS you are booting.

Sorry for the confusion.
Using the Samsung SSD on Asus laptop, I did a fresh win 11 installation. There was no errors.
If i do a fresh install on HP there are errors, winload.efi file missing or blue screen error as mentioned earlier.
if I clone, using Magician or DiskGenius I'm having bad sector error.
1. The magician stops after 20 percent, says disk not found
2. DiskGenius also stops after 40 percent says there are bad sectors on the SSD. But there are no bad sectors as I have checked it independently.
Regarding Ubuntu boot, while installing I'm the following error:
Ubuntu kernal:[803.693713] nvme nvme0: abort status: 0x371.
As you suggested, I will remove my 2TB hard disk, and I will try doing a fresh installation on Samsung SSD.
Or the only thing left, is to try with other brands than Samsung.

If you move the SSD from the ASUS to the HP, I would expect the HP to boot the SSD with the ASUS windows OS. There would be a lot of unknown devices in the device manager but win10 (or 11) should have booted assuming both system were GPT and UEFI.
Possibly the SSD is not making good contact. Try cleaning it and the contacts on the motherboard with q-tip & tech grade alcohol.
Are you using a heat sink assembly? If so, remove it. Some of the heat sink assemblies may be a bad fit and do not allow the SSD to fit correctly. I assume you have the correct screw to hold down the SSD and it is fully inserted.
I assume you are using a USB with win11 to install and not a DVD. If using RUFUS be sure to select gpt and uefi.
The samsung should have worked since it worked on the ASUS.
[edit]. If you installed windows on the M.2 with the ASUS the installation will be GPT by default. Whenever doing a fresh install be sure use specify that all partitions on the SSD be deleted.
