Hi @ats_793151
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Please try the steps below to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Restart Your Laptop
- A simple restart can sometimes resolve connectivity issues with USB ports.
2. Update Device Drivers:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section.
- Right-click each USB driver (especially USB Root Hub and USB-C) and select Update driver.
3. Uninstall and Reinstall USB Controllers:
- In Device Manager, right-click each USB driver and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.
4. Check Power Management Settings:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the USB device (e.g., USB-C controller) and select Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
5. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:
- Restart your laptop and press the appropriate key (e.g., F10, Esc, Del) to enter BIOS/UEFI settings:
- Ensure that USB ports are enabled in BIOS/UEFI settings.:
- Save any changes and exit BIOS/UEFI.
6. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off your laptop and unplug it from the power source.
- If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds:
- Reinsert the battery, plug in the power adapter, and start your laptop
