Hi guys,
I have problem with finding name of GPU slot on HP Pavilion 32 all-i-one b0009 and Elitedesk 705 G4 DM.
Both have some kind of mxm slot but its unusual and there are nowhere informations about that.
Here is GTX 1650 for HP Pavilion with this connector
And here is motherboard from Elitedesk 705 G4 mini:
for Elitedesk is only one option for dedicated GPU like RX 560 GB
Can anyone answer my questions? Maybe someone from Support can give me answers because i researched the whole internet for that.
EDIT: I found that graphics card from HP Pavilion 32 AIO b0009/b0000i has the same slot, i bought one - GTX 1650 and i will try to fit it in motherboard. We will se what's will happen

Hi @Robson13,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with some unique configurations that use MXM (Mobile PCI Express Module) slots for GPUs in the HP Pavilion 32 AIO and EliteDesk 705 G4 DM. MXM slots are indeed more common in laptops, all-in-one PCs, and small form factor (SFF) desktops due to their compact design.
- MXM Variants: MXM slots come in several versions (MXM 3.0 Type A, Type B, etc.), with differences in size, pin count, and power delivery. If the GTX 1650 you've bought is explicitly labeled as MXM, you may have a good chance it will fit.
- HP-Specific Modifications: OEMs like HP sometimes use proprietary versions of MXM slots, which can differ slightly from the standard. This could lead to compatibility issues even if the physical connector fits.
- BIOS Whitelisting: HP systems, especially in compact designs, might have BIOS whitelisting. This means the system will only recognize GPUs that are explicitly approved or supported by HP.
Things to Check Before Installing:
- Physical Fit: Ensure the dimensions of the GTX 1650 match the slot and available space in your AIO or EliteDesk.
- Power Requirements: Verify that the motherboard and MXM slot can provide enough power for the GTX 1650. If not, it may not function properly.
- Cooling: Since these systems are compact, check if the cooling solution can handle the GTX 1650. If not, you might need to upgrade the thermal solution.
- BIOS Compatibility: Update your BIOS to the latest version before installing the GPU. This can sometimes improve hardware compatibility.
After Installation:
- If the system powers on but doesn’t detect the GPU, it might be a BIOS or whitelisting issue.
- If the system fails to power on, remove the GPU and check for physical damage or mismatched connectors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
