Hello, just a question out of nowhere!
I always unplug my PC after I shutdown properly when not in use and I saw on internet that unplugging the PC will damage hardware so just want to be clear if that is true!
hope I have come to the right place
thnx

Hi:
The only time you would need to unplug your PC is in the event of a severe thunderstorm or if your area experiences continuous power outages.
If you connect via an ethernet cable, you should disconnect that in the event of a severe thunderstorm as well.
Why it is not recommended to always unplug your PC:
When you plug the PC back in, power surges to the electrical components.
Over time, the constant plugging and unplugging can possibly cause damage to them.
Electricity is not like a faucet where you can turn it on low.
It's either on or its off.
Always have your PC connected to a surge protector as well.
A minor factor also is that when the PC is unplugged it runs off the internal coin cell battery to maintain the BIOS settings.
