Hello, I own the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2170M CTO - Serial Number: 2MD21144ZH and I would like to upgrade the graphics card and possibly the power supply. Currently I have a 400W power supply and a GTX1660 Super card (single fan). My question is, what alternatives do I have for a different graphics card - different cards that are compatible . Can you tell me what Size (card dimensions) that will fit in my PC. It has a pretty small case. My current card as a 111MM width ? Can I go any wider than that, and what tis the max length of card can I use. Also,  can I use a 500W or larger power supply and does to have to be a HP power supply. Or can I a different manufactures power supply. Thank you very much.

@Jon320,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

The power supply for your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2170m (3V2Z3AV) as fitted with an Erica/Erica6 motherboard, can be upgraded to the following compatible power supplies: a 500-watt unit with p/n: L05757-800 or 901759-013, and even a 650-watt unit, with p/n: L57253-003, L36049-003 or L36049-003, which I used in my HP Pavilion TP01-3003w upgrade project.

Since your motherboard only accepts an HP proprietary power supply, unfortunately you cannot use any other non-HP power supply.

Here are some power supply upgrade purchase options via trusted eBay sellers:

500-watt PSU: https://www.ebay.com/itm/157242883463?_skw=l05757-800&itmmeta=01K2WS6P0995D6KQW1DTCDZJNK&hash=item24..., or: https://www.ebay.com/itm/394776538414?_skw=l05757-800&itmmeta=01K2WS6P0AETK90BYKHN5HW63V&hash=item5b....

650-watt PSU: https://www.ebay.com/itm/205284596394?_skw=L57253-003&itmmeta=01K2WSHE1V33ZR8AJZ1R1GY4JW&hash=item2f..., or: 650W PSU 4+4Pin For HP 800 G3 G4 G5 Z2 Z1 TE01 TG01 Envy-795-0003UR Power Supply | eBay.

The Pavilion cases are indeed fairly small, so as a rule of thumb, only smaller-sized (up to dual fans) graphics cards will fit. Let me know what GPU you have in mind/fits in your budget, and I could suggest options as well.

Kind Regards,

Hello, thank you very much for your information. I did buy a 500W power supply, I got a good price on eBay. Anyway, if you don't mind giving mor advice on graphics cards. My current card is a GeForce RTX 1660 (one fan) it is 111mm wide, and I don't know how much clearance there is to the top cover of my computer HP Gaming Desktop TG01. I mainly use my computer for photo editing, and I don't think I will be doing much gaming in the future. My criterion for a card is that it fits in my computer with a 500W power supply, spending $150 or less (I know I will be buying a used card), 6GB of Ram, and be a quiet card. The noise of my current card is what I am switching graphics cards. I have been looking at MSI Gaming S RTX 1660 TI gets good reviews and is quiet? Another card that I having been looking at it the Gigabyte GTX 3050, this card is also supposed to be quiet, do you agree. Maybe a quiet 2060 6GB with in my 500W PSU. Any suggestions on which graphic cards would be good for me and is it good idea to buy a used card. Thank you again for your time.
