Bonjour
HP Pavilion 550-240nf Desktop PC Product Specifications
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-550-200-desktop-pc-series/9259612/product-info
comme ceci :
550-205nf (ENERGY STAR) PC Product Specifications
Hello
Frankly, it would be better to Invest in a more scalable Gaming PC
This model is equipped with a very low power supply
The motherboard is equipped with a gen3 port so no need to waste money for a too recent model (rtx 3xxx)
for other models you will have a problem with the power supply, it will certainly be difficult to replace it
you will only be able to install a prime model, probably not suitable for the game in this case!
You have examples here, compare with the same computer motherboard and power supply
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-550-200-desktop-pc-series/9259612/product-info
it should also take into account the space available in the case, a card that is too large may not fit, and this is not ideal for cooling, if not enough space!
Here you have the upgrade possibilities: memory:
motherboard specifications, Odense
It's up to you to see, but frankly for a fairly old pc since mentioned 2016, I can only advise you not to waste money on it

The simple answer is yes.
You can upgrade your current unit from 8GB Ram to 16GB by adding one 8GB stick.
As far as discrete graphics cards go you are very limited by choices.
The safest bet is an MSI GT 1030 2GB single slot graphics card which will boost your graphics capability by nearly 200%
Taking into account the first reply, I can not argue the points which are valid. However not everyone has the funds to just pitch what they have and opt for a new build.
Is saving your money for a later purchase a bad idea? No it is a good idea.
However that thinking does not satisfy the I want it now bug.
The bottom line is, you can improve what you have (which is already good as it stands) for under $150 USD. Or you can save that money for a total upgrade self generated go fund me. Either way you will win, the short term or the long term goal but not both.
