Hi,
I have a PC Desktop HP model HPE-521it with motherboard Pegatron 2AB6 socket LGA 1155 with last bios AMI 7.15 that actually mounts a processor Intel Core i7 2600.
I wish to upgrade the processor, which of these processors will work smoothly with the above motherboard ?
Intel Core i7 3770
Intel Core i7 3770K
Intel Core I7 4790K
Which one do you suggest me to buy or, if exists, a better choice ?
Thanks for the attention.

Hi,
I haven't seen a HP published and posted BIOS update for your HP motherboard that definitely states support for IVY bridge processors in the HPE-xxx series PCs.
If you have access to an Ivy Bridge processor such as the i7-3770 for free then give it a go. No harm no foul if it doesn't work. Just a little bit of elbow grease to do a test.

Hi,
Stick with the HP approved processor upgrades per the published specifications.
While third party motherboard manufacturers have provided support for the Intel i7-37xx processors with the 1155 socket motherboards, HP hasn't published support or posted a BIOS update to do so with the Cleveland motherboard.

due the specifications card seems that the mainboard support only
Core i7-26xx series processors...
It's a bios problem?
Do you confirm me that the latest bios of the Pegatron 2AB6 is AMI 7.15 or there is something newer?
Thanks a lot for your useful reply.

Hi,
Using an Ivy Bridge processor on the 1155 socket motherboard requires the right chipset (which you have) and a BIOS update.

Hi,
Ivy Bridge processor is out from 2012 and the last bios of the mainboard is dated 2011, so for sure the processor doesn't work with the Pegatron mainboard, anyway thanks a lot for all the infos you gave me.

I am not sure why you are claiming the solution since I gave you all of the correct information that is relative to a possible IVY processor upgrade. The date of the mainboard has nothing to do with IVY bridge support. It's the required chipset which you have in your mainboard and a supporting BIOS update which is not available as I stated.
