Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does anyone know if you can upgrade to the 3rd generation Ryzen? Is there a BIOS update required? If not can you update to the 2nd generation Ryzen?

Thanks for the link.

 

The MB support site does not show support for Ryzen 2000 or 3000 series CPUs (Link).

 

You would probably need a HP BIOS update.

 

HP has a BIOS update here (Link). There is no mention at this site if additional processor support is included in this BIOS update.

Hi Rick,

 

The 580-130 MB specs (Link) show an Intel CPU socket 775.

 

Check the product number.

There is an AMD version of 580-130 with Ryzen 5, please see: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c05686875
