HP 750-514
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I’m getting a message that my HP desktop “doesn’t currently meet Windows 11 system requirements” to upgrade to Windows 11. My PC -- HP 750-514 was purchased in December 2017 with Intel Core i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz. Why isn’t that enough for Windows 11? Is HP going to address this issue?

Hi:

Your PC's processor does not meet the Microsoft W11 processor specs of having an Intel 8th gen core processor or newer, so there is nothing that can be done.

This does not necessarily mean you can't install W11 on your PC, but you would have to perform a clean install and reinstall all of your programs and files.

If you want to see if W11 works on your PC, you can make a bootable W11 USB installer from the link below.

See this article.  3rd headline from the bottom.

If for some reason, W11 does not work correctly on your PC, you can reinstall W10.

I currently have W11 clean installed on two PC's that I have, that do not meet the requirements for the W11 upgrade and they both work fine on W11 so far.

hi

Be careful though
What is good for one is not necessarily good for another
You can actually use windows 11, with some restrictions!
And it can also go wrong!

Windows 10 remains a very good system
think carefully before changing anything
And for any major change, plan for backups, you should not rush headlong either.

Sorry @Paul_Tikkanen  for this parenthesis, but as "experts in the know", I think we should warn users, who themselves are not necessarily used to computer problems.
As they say, prevention is better than cure!
