Hello there, 

Im an HP user for 11 years now, maybe more, and I would like to update my CPU, which is an e2 3200, and remplace it with an a8 3870. Im not sure if it is possible, but i've read a few answers to this same topic, saying it can be eplaced with an a8 3850.

I've checked for bios updates and it seems it has the latest one installed. I used hp support asistant for this task, which told me my PC is fully updated.

If you look at the section titled "Processor upgrade information" there is a list of compatible processors.  These have been fully tested to assure they are compatible with the motherboard.  Any other processor will most likely not work.
