Updating an HP Touchsmart 320

HP Recommended
Touchsmart 320 1010la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello there,

Im an HP user for 11 years now, maybe more, and I would like to update my CPU, which is an e2 3200, and remplace it with an a8 3870. Im not sure if it is possible, but i've read a few answers to this same topic, saying it can be eplaced with an a8 3850.

I've checked for bios updates and it seems it has the latest one installed. I used hp support asistant for this task, which told me my PC is fully updated.

@TheManuelGuy , welcome to the Community.

Here is the Motherboard Specifications: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-touch-320-1000-desktop-pc-series/7102851/model/5155748/docum...

If you look at the section titled "Processor upgrade information" there is a list of compatible processors.  These have been fully tested to assure they are compatible with the motherboard.  Any other processor will most likely not work.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.
