Upgrade BIOS HP Pavilion 500-210qe

Hello.

I have a problem to UPGRADE BIOS in my Desktop.

I have right now  v.80.07 and I found I can UPGRADE to v.80.20

but unfortunately I can't find any file on the web.

Mainboard IPM87-MP 

I wanted upgrade my CPU i5-4430 to i7-7490 but unfortunately the BIOS 80.07 not recognize it .

I hope after UPGRADE I can see my new "oldie" CPU.

The file what I need is sp70923.exe .

Maybe somebody has this file and can share it.

I did not find the file you asked for -  sp70923.exe.  I found a description for that update, however.

And I found this BIOS update that has the same description and explanation as the sp70923.exe . It does include a microcode update.  It is for Windows 8.1, though.    I do not know if that will cause a problem since you do not mention the Windows version.

If the bios version is not available, either it is because it is not provided for your computer, version of the motherboard!
Either for some reason, can be important, this last one has been withdrawn and is not available any more, it can happen with an unstable, dangerous version or whatever else!

I couldn't find the BIOS you put on the bottom.

I UPGRADE my BIOS to 80.23 but it doesn't change anything and CPU doesn't work.

I bought this CPU a week ago on eBay and I don't know for sure is working or not.

When I buy another one I return to that post and tell the story.

While I apologize for the fact I overlooked the request about the new CPU - i7-7490.  If you look at the list of CPU's that @Prométhée  so kindly posted, you will see that the i7-7490 is not on there.  From the info of the CPU - i7-7490 - it is not a real type number.  Did you actually mean a i7-4790 ?

indeed, I gave the list, so that you can check if the processor is listed!
As mentioned by, two possibilities:
the processor is in the list, you made a mistake on the nomination, it may be defective!
The processor is not in the list, it is very likely that it is not compatible even after updating the bios!

I have two possibilities .. I agree with you but:

doesn't have i7-4790 because my computer was made in 2013.

i7-4790 was made in Q2, 2014 but the motherboard support i7-4790.

That last BIOS 80.23 was released in 2016 that I think support i7-4790.

The first question is whether HP has blocked the i7-4790 support on this model or not.

The second possibility is that CPU is broken.

Just in case I ordered already i7-4770 and I think will be work.
