H, Bob:

You can't upgrade the processor.

Your PC has the best processor that was supported in the motherboard.

You can install up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 CL17 memory.

You can remove the two 4 GB memory chips and install this 16 GB kit which should be compatible with your PC:

Timetec 16GB KIT(2x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz PC4-19200 Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL17 1Rx8 Single Rank 260 Pin...

Below is the link to the upgrading and servicing guide:

If you were wanting to upgrade the processor so you could install W11, you can upgrade to W11, but you would have to use a workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks.

If you are happy with your PC, and if you are interested in installing W11 24H2 via an in-place upgrade on your PC as is, watch this video, which is the easiest way to do it in my opinion, and I have tried many different ways to do this during the last 3 years.

How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD)

Otherwise you will have to buy a PC that has hardware that fully supports W11.

Hi,

Many thanks for your response.

Do you have a link to a guide on how to dismantle this PC and install 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 CL17 memory?

I am happy with Windows 10.

Best Regards, Bob

You're very, welcome Bob.

I posted the link to the service guide in my first reply.

Cheers,

Hi Paul.

I don't feel comfortable dismantling my All-in_One. Your link doesn't tell me how to gain access to the mother board.

"Below is the link to the upgrading and servicing guide:

I am a engineer more adept with mechanical toys, but I  have replaced components in a.n.other PC base stations which have screws.

Sorry about that.

I thought I posted the wrong link, but on your PC model series' support page, the manual I posted indicated it was for the Upgrading and Servicing Guide which clearly is an error on HP's part.

HP ENVY Curved 34-b000 All-in-One Desktop PC series - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support

Unfortunately, I could not find a complete service teardown video or manual.

All I could find by doing an internet search was this:

Replace the Hard Drive Assembly | HP ENVY Curved All-in-One PCs 34-b1xx and 34-b0xx | HP Support

Hi Paul,

Many thanks for that link, Dismantling looks quite straight forward. The only videos I found, were for later models where the hard drive sits behind the screen and I did not relish prising my screen apart.

I have932 GB HDD HGST HTS721010A9E630, 238 GB SSD NVMe SAMSUNG MZVPW256 hard drives. Would you suggest I should replace these at the same time? Maybe better to wait & save up for a new PC?

Many Thanks, Bob.

You're very welcome, Bob.

I'd be leaving the 1 TB mechanical SDD as is or removing it entirely, and installing a larger capacity NVMe SSD.

The slot gen is 3.0.

A gen 4.0 SSD will work fine but the transfer speed would be limited to no more than 4,000 MBPS.

I have read a few posts where folks did exactly as you feared...cracked the LCD screen trying to upgrade the innards in the AIO's where that has to be done to get to the internals.

I heard that some PC repair shops won't even touch those PC's for doing upgrades because of that.

Hi, I have followed the video and removed screws from base plate but it will not come off. Please advise?

Hi:

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with any disassembly procedures beyond the information I provided already.

You may want to start a new discussion on that and hope that someone knows how to do it.
